Know more about our metal tags here.

1.2 What types of metal do you use for labeling?

We have a variety of metal types including brass, aluminum, and stainless steel, and many more. The type of metal that would be used depends on which environment the tag will be used.

You can send us an inquiry and request a free quote here.

1.3 Which custom tag should you use?

  •         Brass Tags

This material has a stand-out look that is often called vintage, if you are looking for a more rustic appearance brass is the perfect option. In addition to that brass is ideally used for highly flammable areas, and is resistant to water and corrosion.

  •         Aluminum Tags

This material is perfect to use in cool environments since aluminum becomes weak and frail as the temperature rises. Aluminum is a preferred choice to prevent the loss of readability of information.

  •         Stainless Steel

This material is extremely durable and is suitable for a wide range of environments. Stainless steel is known for its striking effect and is easy to customize.

We are confident that we can deliver whatever our client demands with the wide variety of shapes and sizes that we offer.

1.4 What are the applications of Metal tags?

If you are looking for a moldable tag that is sturdy and can withstand harsh environments then metal tags are for you. Metal tags are ideal to use in warehouses, hospitals, large machinery, and identification of equipment.

1.5 Are your Metal tags corrosion-free?

We use soft metals, or also known as red metals that are corrosion-resistant materials including brass and copper. We only use materials that are ductile and durable and can guarantee free from corrosion throughout the lifespan of the product.

1.6 Are Metal Tags Ideal to Use Outdoors?

Materials that are ideal to use outdoors are those that are durable like brass and copper. When brass and copper oxidize, they become immune to outside elements. Once these metals oxidize it gives them these natural vintage effects.

1.7 How do metal tags benefit my labeling needs?

  •         Metal Tags are durable enough that they can withstand harsh weather and extreme temperature which makes the material last for decades.
  •         Metal Tags come in a variety of material options like stainless steel, aluminum and brass, and many more.
  •         Tags can be printed, engraved, or embossed depending on your needs
  •         Metal tags can be drilled into holes so that it can be mounted, it can also be chained to the machine and other equipment.
  •         Metal Tags require minimal maintenance

1.8 How should I decide whether I should go with plastic or metal tags?

You must calculate your requirements based on the following factors:

  •         Exposure of the Tag

Think of whether the tags will be exposed to harsh conditions. If that is the case, consider using more durable metal tags instead of plastic.

  •         Affordability

Metal tags are expensive compared to tags that are made of plastics but these tags don’t last long in comparison to metal tags. By using plastic tags you will end up buying more than you should, making it more expensive in the long run.

  •         Printing or Engraving

Consider whether you want the data or design to be printed or engraved. If it requires some special labeling like etching or engraving, metal tags are the way to go. However, if it’s just simple digital printing or screen printing you may go with plastic tags.

1.9 Can you guarantee that your metal tags are high-quality?

Metal Tag Guarantee
Figure 2. Metal Tag Guarantee

We conduct several tests such as hardness test, tensile test, and many more just to ensure that every product that we make is made with high quality. This test offers accurate results to help determine the quality of the product.

How long do metal nameplates last?

Materials that are rust and tarnish-resistant can last for decades compared to those tags that are made out of plastics or paper.

Should I use an anodized material for my tag?

Anodizing a metal is a process where protection to corrosive properties, chemical exposure, and the like is added. We suggest using anodized material if your tag will be faced in a harsh environment that requires extreme durability and can withstand high temperatures.

Does anodizing help to maximize the productivity of an aluminum tag?

Yes! Anodizing can help with the productivity of your material, especially with aluminum. Anodized aluminum has an extremely long life expectancy as it creates a reaction that is integrated with the underlying aluminum for incomparable adherence and bonding.

1.10 Is all your work done in-house?

Yes, all of our works are in-house since we are made to print by a custom company.

1.11 In an industrial environment that is full of complexity, what are the important things to consider in manufacturing a metal tag?

Given that the industrial environment is extremely complex several factors need to be considered including:

  1. Application
  2. Temperature
  3. Location
  4. Collision
  5. Electrical Performance
  6. Legibility
  7. Printing

Some of the expensive equipment is often lost or misplaced by staff. By using metal tags, tracking some lost equipment is made easy by decreasing the potential loss of time and money.

  •  Education

High-technology teaching is very prominent during these times. Students and instructors passed on some important information within their department. Record keeping can also be a challenge in this industry if some of the records are misplaced then this will force the faculty members to waste their time just to track down some missing records. Tracking some lost records or equipment is made easy and efficient if you use a metal tag.

  •  Government

Materials and equipment from the office up to the constructions on the road needs tags that are long-lasting mainly because it will be used every day.

2.10 How metals are formed into different shapes?

Metals like brass, aluminum, stainless steel, and many more can be converted into different forms such as circles, squares, hexagons, angular, or any complex shape.

  •         Cold Drawing

In the cold drawing process, a ductile metal rod is released through a narrow nozzle to transform the metal into a smaller cross-sectional area developing an improvement in metal stability.

Here’s how the cold drawing works

  •         Hot Rolling

This process where the metal is formed by pressed rolling at high temperature—over 1,700˚F. The hot rolling process makes the steel easy to form and to work with.

Here’s how the hot rolling works

Cold Rolling

This process of steel forming is essentially the same as the hot rolling process. The steel needs to be hot rolled first and once it has cooled down, it will be re-rolled at room temperature to reach the exact shape or form.

Here’s how the cold rolling works.

2.16 How to know what labeling process you should use on Metal Tags?

Metal Tag Labelling process

  •         Embossing

Features raised characters that are pushed up from the back of the material. Embossed nameplates offer exceptional legibility even when covered in paint or dust.

This is how the embossed process is done

  •         Stamping

This labeling process requires placing a flat sheet of metal in a coil or blank form to a stamping press. Hence this process is also called pressing, where the label remains readable even when faced with harsh conditions.

This is how the stamping process is done

  •         Etching

A strong acid is used in this labeling process to cut some unprotected parts of the metal surface to create a custom design or label.

This is how the etching process is done

  •         Engraving

Compared to etching that uses strong acid in this process, engraving used a special machine to carve up information into the material. This allows total customization since every character is cut individually.

This is how the engraving process is done

2.17 Can embossed labels help in upgrading the look of an overlay?

Depending on the design of an overlay, embossing can make an incredible upgrade to the look of your metal tags.

2.18 Can you cite the difference between etching and screen printing?

Etching involves using strong acids to cut some metal parts and permanently imprint the design. It is ideal to use in indoor or outdoor applications where it can be exposed to harsh weather, extreme temperature, and different chemicals. Since it’s permanently cut it is likely to last longer than screen printing where the ink/paint is just added into the material to create the design.

2.19 What is the difference between laser etching and stamping?

The process of laser etching is completely different from stamping. Laser etching removes an unprotected portion of the metal by melting, this process can be done on bare, anodized, or plated metals.

While stamping, on the other hand, use a method called pressing to modify the material into a certain shape or design. Both labeling processes are equally long-lasting, you can email us to see what process is best for your needs.

2.20 Do You Provide Free Custom Layouts?

Yes, simply email us and tell us your requirements. We can provide custom layouts for customers at home and abroad.
